On May 30, GlavUpDK under the MFA of Russia organized the 30th International Charity Golf Tournament at its branch, Moscow Country Club (Moscow Region, Krasnogorsk Urban District, Nakhabino).
Following a good tradition, it coincided with International Children's Day.
Sergey Lavrov, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a message of greetings to the tournament's participants and guests. "In thirty years, our sports congress has established itself as a unique venue for informal, friendly communication for the members of the diplomatic corps, business community, and broader public. I would especially like to emphasize the charitable nature of the event focused, among other things, on helping gravely ill children," his address said.
The Head of GlavUpDK Vyacheslav Fatin, Advisor to the Russian Children's Rights Commissioner Margarita Banet, and Olympic champion in gymnastics Vera Shimanskaya, along with other athletes, actors, and public figures, opened the tournament. Aleksandra Rebenok, a theater and movie actress, TV presenter, acted as host.
The ceremony culminated in the presentation of charity certificates. This year, the funds raised during the tournament were donated to the ambassadors of Konstantin Khabensky Charitable Foundation, Important People, Vera, Galchonok, Lighthouse, Life in Motion and Life as a Miracle charities, the Karaul Orphanage, and the Boarding School of the MFA of Russia.
80 athletes took the course that day: fans of the sport, young players (under 18) and representatives of diplomatic missions and foreign communities in Moscow, originating from 6 foreign countries. The tournament followed the scramble format, with teams of 4 competing against each other.
After the tournament start, Moscow Country Club launched a celebratory family festival. Its guests were welcome to attend: master classes on appliqué work and Kolomna gingerbread painting, mosaics and video game development, applied folk crafts lessons, and even an introduction to beatmaking (music creation).
Fans of outdoor activities got to try their hand in table tennis, pétanque and mini golf.
Food, of course, was plentiful: the guests were treated to products made by Moscow Region farmers and dishes from the Moscow Country Club chef's special menu. A grill bar and a cozy coffee shop were also open on the grounds.
The festival was accompanied by a musical program and performance by the Kolenkor folk band, Gabriel, R.Ricсardo, DJ Nik Nak, and the Flow, Song band.
At the end of the busy day, Moscow Country Club awarded the golf tournament winners. They were: E. Zapotylok, N. Zarudnaya, K. Sokol, and I. Selivanova.
